HONOR OUR VETS

WWII VETERAN'S  NAMES NEEDED

We would like to have any WWII Veteran (member or non-member) contact the Carlsbad Elks Lodge (885-5838) or e-mail Lodge Secretary Kent Hitchens: elks1558@,mywdo.com

Since the December "Elks Memorial Service" falls on Dec. 7th this year, we'd like to make a special recognition of that group at the Memorial Service.
In particular, if there is any veteran who was at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th, we'd especially like you to contact us and plan to be here for the service.

Appealing to our Veterans

Carlsbad Lodge is quite fortunate to have 569 Veterans in our membership. As this is our 20th year to support the T. or C. Veterans Center at Christmas Time, we'd like to make a special "plea" to our members who are Veterans to help us reach our goal of $3,000. As you 569 know better than others..."Freedom is Never Free". There is always a price.

So we are calling upon each veteran to give us just $10, if you have not already done so. If each of you gave just $10...we'd be there and beyond.

As always, we publish the names of those members who send in $10 or more, but we couldn't do it without many of you who include that extra dollar or five with your dues.

To date, we have already collected $1,986.50. The money is for the Vets. Please keep that in your hearts and minds.

These are the folks who have sent in $10-$25 towards the program: Bill Barnhart, Bill Bartlett, S.I Beason, Bill & Juanita Cassell, Bill Davis, Genie Davis, Roger Davis, Ron Eidson, Bill Festing, Roland Fuentez, Garth Grizzle, Jack Ingram, Ricky Lemon, Sandra Lemon, J.C. Ogden, Robert Osbourn, Scott Peeler, Michael Phillips, Stan Power, Ronald Sanders, Judi Sears, William F. Skillern, Frank Smith, Kenny Smith, Terry Williams, and the "Amen Corner" in Memory of Don Morse.

And, while the only contest we have is to see how much money we can raise for the Vets, we want to give a special thanks to those folks who sent in a little more: Benny Barrick, Don Bridgewater, Larry Cravens, Bob Dugas, Tom Durrett, James Gibson, Bill Landreth, Donations in Memory of Departed Member Bruce Burmeister, and Rocky Speer.

We'd also like to make mention that we received a very generous donation of $500 from one of our very good members who wishes to remain anonymous. You know who you are, and we thank you very much.

Our deadline is the middle of December. Please help us help bring a little cheer at Christmas to those who served our country.
