It may seem like we are beating a “dead
horse” to death, but we can’t seem to make
all members understand…you must have your
Elks Membership Card with you when you
come in AND, your spouse (if applicable) must
have his/her Elks ID Card with them, or they
must sign in.



 SCHOLARSHIP TIME!
“Legacy Award”
The Elks National Foundation “Legacy Scholarship” application is available on line now at www.elks.org/legacyscholarship/
Legacy Awards are $1,000/year (four year) Scholarships. Applications are available and must be competed only “on-line” at www.elks.org/legacyscholarship.
Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk paid-up member is eligible.
Only four awards are given to New Mexico seniors graduating in 2018. Carlsbad Lodge sponsored applicants have received several of those in the past .
Applicants must have taken the ACT or SAT by Dec. 31, 2017
Deadline is February 2, 2018

“Most Valuable Student”
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships nation-wide.
New Mexico gets six  Applicants need not be related to members of the Elks.
Only 2018 Graduating Seniors are eligible.
Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. Permanent Legal Resident Status does not qualify.
Male and female students compete separately.
Applications are available on line at www.elks.org/enf/scholars
Download the MVS Application.
Judging is based heavily on SAT or ACT along with financial need and Leadership.
ACT/SAT be completed on or before November 4, 2017
It is recommended you be in the top 5% of your graduating class.
All completed applications must be returned to the Carlsbad Elks Lodge.  Deadline is November 27.
